During the two sessions the librarian spoke about the rationale of why teachers have selected books for literature circle and how each book is in its way a special read. In addition, important definitions were covered such as pleasure reading versus close reading, the importance of annotation  and annotation symbols and finally there were some sample journal entries shared with students in order     for them to start their journey as well as take effective notes and reflect on their readings along the  way.

 Design a Bookmark Contest 2002

Design a Bookmark Contest 2002 was organized for primary learners grade 1 to 5. We received an overwhelming response from our enthusiastic learners.

We had numerous entries with very creative designs and some of the designs were exceptional. There were three winners from each grade and the contest was judged by visual arts students. Choosing the winners was a very difficult task for our panel of judges

A huge thank you to all those learners who participated in this competition with such enthusiasm. Congratulations to the winners
