Literature circle

Literature circle – building independent and critical readers. Two sessions were organized for grades 6   and 7. During the two sessions the librarian spoke about the rationale of why teachers have selected books for literature circle and how each book is in its way a special read. In addition, important definitions were covered such as pleasure reading versus close reading, the importance of annotation  and annotation symbols and finally there were some sample journal entries shared with students in order     for them to start their journey as well as take effective notes and reflect on their readings along the  way.
